Our mission is to advance knowledge, increase resources, and improve capacity for animal care across Georgia.
An emphasis on providing resources to increase the safety and comfort of shelter pets.
Provide help with assessments, education, training, resource and program development.
Grant assistance, funding, in-kind donations, event planning, networking, relationship building & more.
Helping shelters, rescues and individuals grow their influence on animal welfare and make progress toward a No Kill Georgia.
For decades, our society has allowed the killing of unwanted companion animals. This is unethical and immoral. The No Kill movement gives us the opportunity to overcome our ignorance and apathy with proven best practices. The foremost authorities on animal welfare have determined that No Kill is possible throughout the United States by 2025. We are confident that the great state of Georgia can achieve No Kill and are resolved to join, promote, participate and contribute to this cause.
SCAWA recognizes that working together - joining our respective time & talents - empowers our cause and benefits more animals in need. We strive to use donations and resources effectively and create mutually beneficial relationships. We welcome individuals, independent rescue organizations, municipal shelters, local businesses, corporate donors & government agencies. Together, there is no limit to what we can accomplish.
Currently, we offer assistance on a case-by-case basis. Recent contributions include resource development, grant assistance, social media and association networking, transport & foster volunteers and event & fundraising support. Please contact us and we will be glad to evaluate our ability to assist with your particular needs.
